Primesure Newsletter: April 2025

Kia ora and welcome to our April newsletter

I can't believe we are already into April and daylight savings is now a thing of the past!

What’s happening in our space:

We have recently partnered with I Am Hope – these guys do an amazing job, working tirelessly with our children and young people for their wellbeing.

As with most charities, they struggle with the day-to-day cost of running the organisation and I was honoured when they accepted our proposal to become a strategic partner.

This newsletter is mainly about them and the article from Rick Wells MBE (kiwi multi-sport legend) around their Kiwisaver initiative which is a great idea to support a fantastic charity.

Please feel free to pass this onto friends, family and work colleagues.

Let’s all help them to help our tamariki.

Cheers,
Cameron Hollis

The market: An update on what we are seeing

The significant rate raises in the commercial material damage and business interruption lines have flattened out and we are doing a lot of remarketing in this area to get the best possible terms available.

The domestic lines are having increases from some companies so once again, we are doing repricing with these as well.

There are players in the market looking for new business in the commercial space and we have picked up a few accounts recently by just doing what we do best…looking after people “The Primesure way”.

One large international broker has decided to sell a very large chunk of their domestic clients to AMI – a direct insurance company. If you hear of or know anyone that’s now not getting personal service then please feel free to point them our way.

I Am Hope: KiwiSaver Initiative

Supporting Youth Mental Health at no cost to your business or staff.

What It Is

I Am Hope has partnered with trusted KiwiSaver providers (NZ Funds, Generate) to offer a simple way for employers and employees to support youth mental health through their KiwiSaver – with no financial impact on either party.

How It Works
  • Employees are offered the opportunity to switch to an ethical, high-performing KiwiSaver provider.

  • When they switch, the provider pays I Am Hope a commission and ongoing trail — at no cost to the employer or employee.

  • This provides I Am Hope with a new, sustainable source of funding.

Where the Funding Goes
  • Little People Big Feelings – our early intervention programme teaching emotional literacy to children aged 3–7 through books, workshops, and school engagement.

  • Gumboot Friday – our nationwide counselling platform offering free, immediate access to registered therapists for young people aged 25 and under.

Why It Matters
  • Over 117,000 counselling sessions have already been delivered through Gumboot Friday.

  • The demand is growing, and we need long-term funding to keep services free and accessible.

  • KiwiSaver commissions provide a passive, recurring income stream to meet this need.

Benefits for Your Business
  • Align your workplace with a nationally recognised mental health charity.

  • Offer your staff a no-pressure KiwiSaver review with a licensed adviser.

  • Make a tangible social impact without writing a cheque.

  • Demonstrate community leadership and support for youth wellbeing.

How to Get Involved
  • A short presentation can be arranged for your team.

  • Staff are free to opt in, ask questions, or stick with their current provider.

  • You don’t handle any admin — we do everything.

Join us in building a future where every young Kiwi can access the help they need, when they need it — no questions asked.
